Andrea Pelaez, Coach-Facilitator-Communications

Andrea is an award-winning performer, director, and movement specialist, born in Bogotá, Colombia, and a British citizen. She graduated in advertising and marketing, and later pursued professional studies in performing arts, fuelled by her lifelong passion and hobby.

With 18 years of experience, Andrea has made significant contributions to the performing arts industry and served as a facilitator for the education and corporate sector both nationally and internationally. She is the co-founder of the influential group in the UK entertainment industry, @LAIPA\_UK, and serves as a board member of the organisation Stage Directors UK @SDUK.

As a mixed-race woman, Andrea emphasises the importance of including performing arts with diverse disciplines and backgrounds.

She has lent her expertise as a movement consultant to Lee Evans and Colin Salmon for the US TV Series “Single Ladies” with Queen Latifah. Andrea has also worked as a movement director for esteemed institutions such as the National Youth Theatre, The Royal Shakespeare Company, the National Theatre, and Southbank, Colombia Ministry of Culture, among others.

Her role as a facilitator has taken her to institutions like RADA, the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, Guildhall School of Music and Drama and Casa del Teatro Nacional Colombia.

Andrea’s credits as a performer for the screen include roles in “The Muppets Most Wanted” and “Avengers Age of Ultron” (Disney and Marvel films respectively), as well as appearances on “Doctors” (BBC TV).

Among her numerous awards and grants are:

- The Best Short Film at the New York Film Festival for “MEMORY”, Arts Council England DYCP Grant for Performance and Technology, Arts Grant from Waltham Forest Borough for “London Borough of Culture”. Creative Laboratory (Dance, Fashion & Technology) by East London Dance. - UNESCO award for Salida Productions. - Creative Entrepreneur award from the City of London and GSMD, and the Stage One Bursary for New Producers.
