Human performance consultancy ·
At Mission Performance, we believe business should be a force for good. That’s why, when we first became a certified B Corporation in 2021, it wasn’t just about achieving a credential – it was about committing to a journey of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement. Today, as we proudly announce our B Corp re-certification in 2025, we want to share what has changed, what it means for us, and why it matters.
B Corp in 2025: A Higher Standard, A Bigger Responsibility
When we first joined the B Corp movement, the certification set a new benchmark for balancing profit with purpose. Four years on, the bar has been raised. The recertification process now demands more rigorous evidence of impact across governance, employees, community, and environment. The message is clear: certification isn’t a one-off achievement; it’s about building a culture of constant progress.
For Mission Performance, this means embedding sustainability into everything we do, from the way we serve clients to how we hold ourselves accountable for the footprint we leave behind.

The Challenge of Global Impact
Working with organisations worldwide brings unique challenges. Our assessment showed that 98% of our emissions come from long-haul flights – a direct result of serving a global client base. While we deliver much of our work online, some skills and behaviours are best developed “in the room.” So, the question becomes; how do we balance the need to connect with clients face-to-face while staying true to our environmental commitments?
Our answer is a blend of innovation and responsibility:
Flying only when the learning objectives truly require it
Choosing more fuel-efficient airlines and direct flights
Tracking and reporting emissions per client project
Selecting travel and hospitality partners who share our values
It’s not about avoiding tough choices, it’s about making smarter ones.
Mission Investment: From Carbon to Community
We quickly learned that traditional carbon offsetting wasn’t enough. Too often, it lacked transparency and impact. So we designed something better: Mission Investment.
For every programme we deliver, we calculate its carbon footprint and convert it into a Unit of Environmental Investment (UEI). Each UEI funds tangible projects that restore ecosystems and fuel scientific research.
Instead of outsourcing responsibility, we invest directly in solutions that matter.
Our partners bring this vision to life:
- Stump Up For Trees: Four native broadleaf trees planted and managed for every tonne of carbon we emit.
- Scottish Association for Marine Science(SAMS): Investments in research and education to safeguard marine environments.
- Carbon Footprin t: Accredited tools and verification to ensure we remain honest and accurate.
Our 2025–2026 Roadmap
Re-certification is only the start. Our Environmental Management Plan sets ambitious targets:
Offset 100% of flight emissions, while cutting fossil fuel-based travel by 10% by 2026
Expand hybrid and rail-first travel options, supported by cycle-to-work schemes
Source 50% more renewable energy by 2026
Reduce landfill waste by 10%, confidential shredding by 30%, and consumables deliveries by 50%
Cut office water use by 10%
Each of these commitments is measurable, trackable, and designed to create a ripple effect across our people, clients, and partners.
What’s Next
Re-certification isn’t the end of the story; it’s the next chapter. It challenges us to think differently, act boldly, and lead by example. Our mission is to prove that high performance and positive impact aren’t opposites; they are partners.
Together with clients, associates, and partners, we are building a future where doing good and doing business are one and the same.
