Case study

How do you unify multiple training providers into one coherent leadership programme?

A global standards- and safety-critical organisation risked its multi-supplier leadership programme fragmenting across seven cohorts. Mission Performance stepped in as the single accountable partner — aligning content, assuring quality and delivering two flagship modules itself. A scattered set of provider modules became one coherent development journey with a consistent leadership language worldwide.

Orchestrating a Multi-Supplier Leadership Programme at Global Scale

A globally significant organisation operating in a standards- and safety-critical sector at the heart of world trade, energy and infrastructure — an industry sitting squarely in the crosshairs of today’s geostrategic challenges and opportunities.

The organisation needed to build a consistent, commercially minded and inclusive leadership culture across a dispersed population of senior leaders and managers. Its flagship leadership programme drew on several specialist external providers, each contributing a distinct module. The risk was fragmentation: strong individual sessions that did not add up to a single, coherent developmental journey aligned to the organisation’s strategic outcomes.

Business need

To design and hold together a modular, multi-provider leadership programme so that it functioned as one integrated experience rather than a series of disconnected workshops. The organisation required a trusted partner able to take ownership of the programme architecture — coordinating a group of independent suppliers, assuring the quality and alignment of their delivery, and directly delivering the modules most critical to embedding a high-performance, innovation-ready culture — all at global scale and entirely in a virtual format.

What was delivered

Mission Performance acted as both the integrator of the wider supplier group and a lead content provider, giving the client a single point of accountability for the coherence and quality of the whole programme.

Programme orchestration and supplier management

  • Scheduling and coordination:sequencing modules across each cohort and managing the cadence so that content built logically from one session to the next.
  • Briefing and alignment:briefing each specialist provider on their role, the learning outcomes they owned, and how their module connected to those before and after it — ensuring clear links and a shared understanding across the group.
  • Quality assurance:observing delivery and providing structured feedback to each supplier — particularly through the first full run of the programme — to confirm content was aligned appropriately and pitched to the audience.
  • Strategic threading:connecting every module back to the organisation’s defined strategic outcomes and ‘what good looks like’ behaviours, so the programme delivered against business priorities rather than generic leadership theory.
  • Opening and sustainment:running a launch session for each cohort to set expectations and establish light-touch sustainment habits — peer coaching partnerships, reflective journalling and facilitated reflection — that carried learning between modules.

Direct delivery of two flagship modules — six core sessions

Alongside the coordination role, Mission Performance designed and delivered two of the programme’s modules, spanning six interactive virtual sessions built around pre-work, case studies, peer exchange and commitments to application between sessions.

  • Leading a High-Performance Culture (three sessions):the characteristics of high-performing teams, leading with courageous compassion, unlocking potential through a culture of followership, and the fundamentals of motivation — establishing the psychological safety on which innovation and change depend.
  • Leading Change and Innovation (three sessions):the four stages of psychological safety, listening with purpose, divergent thinking as a creative discipline, adaptive leadership through complexity, and action learning sets for reflective, shared problem-solving.

Outcomes

The programme has run continuously and successfully from its first cohort through to its seventh — evidence of a model that clients trust enough to repeat and of learning quality that has held up cohort after cohort. Delivered entirely virtually to a global audience of senior leaders and managers, it has given the organisation a consistent leadership language and a shared set of behaviours across geographies and functions.

  • A fragmented set of provider modules was turned into a single, coherent developmental journey with clear connective tissue between sessions.
  • Quality and alignment across the supplier group were actively assured rather than assumed, with feedback loops that improved delivery through the first run and beyond.
  • Structured reflection and feedback sessions fed insight back into the programme, allowing subsequent modules and later cohorts to be continuously refined.
  • Sustained delivery from the sixth into the seventh cohort demonstrates durable quality and an enduring client relationship in a demanding, high-stakes sector.

The Mission Performance difference

This engagement plays to a distinctive strength: the ability to sit above a group of specialist providers as the integrating partner — owning coherence, quality and strategic alignment — while also delivering the highest-stakes content directly. Clients gain the breadth of a best-of-breed supplier group with the accountability and consistency of a single trusted partner, and a programme that keeps improving with every cohort.
