Paul Mattin is a passionate and enthusiastic trainer and motivator who has accrued a wealth of leadership experience during his service as a Commando and Mountain Leader Officer. Recently retired from the Royal Marines, he brings a gritty but astute approach to the corporate training arena, offering experience born from almost 25 years of personal leadership. Paul has been pivotal in the training of Royal Marines Young Officers and Recruits during his commission, and has been honoured twice as a commander whilst on active service. He is a qualified Mountaineer, Skier and Kite-Ski Instructor, and utilises the wilder corners of the UK and Norway for his unique training courses. Paul has soldiered in the most unpleasant locations the world has to offer, including the Balkans, Belize and Afghanistan. He sailed the Atlantic Ocean as an 18 year old, has climbed the Eiger and has led expeditions to many of the world’s mountain ranges. Most recently he skied to and from the South Pole; a 2500 km journey that marked the first military expedition of its type since Captain Scott. Paul has experience in the film industry, appearing in Discovery Channel’s ‘Elite Commando’ and ITVs ‘Commando-the front line’ series. He has filmed in Antarctica, and as an IOSH qualified Safety Advisor, he has worked with ITV and Grenada on wilderness related projects. Paul has delivered exciting and gripping speeches to a wide range of Corporate, Leisure and Educational clients. He delivers key messages and advice on team dynamics and leadership style, and preaches the importance of investing time and effort into the culture and ethos of an organisation. Paul is a fly-fisherman, a qualified teacher and he lives in Devon with his wife Nicky and 3 young sons. |
